Women's Small Business Month

Updated: Nov 1

As a proud father of three daughters, I know firsthand the strength, resilience, and determination women bring to every aspect of life – especially in business. Before this month ends, I want to recognize that October is the National Women’s Small Business Month, and today, I want to honor the women entrepreneurs and business owners who make our communities stronger, vibrant, and more connected.

Women-owned businesses in New York, particularly minority-owned, face challenges that seem to grow each year. These women aren’t just building businesses; they’re creating jobs, resources, and growth that benefit all of us. However, as New York continues to drive away small businesses with high taxes, red tape, and a lack of support, we are seeing the devastating effects. Our state is mismanaged, often overlooking the real, positive impact that women-owned businesses bring to our local economy. Meanwhile, funds continue to be diverted to illegal migrants, adding more of a burden on hardworking taxpayers. We need a New York that respects our residents and makes it easier for entrepreneurs—especially women and minority-owned businesses—to thrive, grow, and stay in the state they call home.

Now, more than ever, we need common-sense policies that support small businesses, provide incentives to stay, and reduce the obstacles in their path. Let’s stand up for our incredible women business owners by advocating for fewer taxes, fewer regulations, and resources that support their growth and success. We need a New York that values these women as the true backbone of our communities.

Let’s give back to the ones who give so much to us!
